This year Daniel is gone for Grace's first Halloween. I loathe that he can't be here, and that we can't be there.
But we are lucky to be surrounded by great family that will make this holiday great. Daniel is working hard to insure many more fantastic Halloweens in the future. So in the end, it's okay.
When we found out we were pregnant we decided the baby's first Halloween costume would be a monkey, mainly because we called the baby sea-monkey for a long time during my pregnancy
Grace would be the monkey and Daniel and I would be zoo-keepers. CUTE right?
Once Grace was born I looked up down and sideways for a cute, not too masculine, monkey costume.
EVERY one I found was too boy-ish, ugly, or cheaply made.
I finally found one at Babies R Us! It was cute! It was nicely made! It was feminine-ish! PERFE--Oh, wait. Not in her size. Oi.
I think that was a sign. Grace was not meant to be a monkey for her first Halloween.
Right next to the monkey costumes were the CUTEST lady bug costumes. Seriously, the cutest lady bug costume I have ever seen. Her Papa wanted her to be a lady bug in the first place so hey, why not.
Boy am I glad I made her a lady bug, because she friggin loved it.

|The cutest lady bug in the history of all ladybugs.|
We went and visited her Grandpa Rice. He hasn't seen her since she was like a month and a half old. SO CUTE.
Then we made a trip over to my grandparents.
She was seriously the cutest trick or treater ever...even though we didn't go trick or treating. Ha!
All in all, it was a great day that I wish Daniel had been here for.
