Ahh, another Pinterest Try-Out. Brings tears to mine eyes.
This one had been sitting on my pinterest board for awhile. I had to wait to do it till I got either a food processor or a magic bullet.
Luckily, my Mother-In-Law got
me us a deluxe Magic Bullet set for Christmas! HUZZAH.
Of COURSE this had to be the first thing I made with it!
1 16 oz pkg of Oreo cookies
5 cups LARGE marshmallows
4 tbs butter
THAT IS IT. Three ingredients? I like it!
line an 8 x8 baking pan with PARCHMENT paper, lightly grease the pan and paper.
Pulse your oreo's in whatever you have that will do it. Magic Bullet works great, but I imagine a food processor would be faster. Pulse until the Oreo's are ground. I left mine with a FEW chunks in it that were SMALL. I am glad I did that too, because it was nice to bite into them!
Then put the marshmallows and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Put in the microwave 1 1/2-2 minutes, just until fluffy.
Mix in the ground Oreo.
Poor the mixture into the pan. Then with PARCHMENT paper, press down the mixture so it goes flat. The original recipe said to do this with wax paper and that was a HUGE epic failure and I spent an HOUR picking off the paper from the bars. MAKE SURE you do NOT leave the paper on top of the mixture. As soon as it is pressed down--TAKE IT OFF.
Let it set for AT LEAST 10 minutes.
Then it should easily come out. I cut the corners off so that I would have a nice crisp edge. I also covered it front & back in powdered sugar so it wasn't so sticky.
Mine were a bit thinner than the ones on pinterest, because I used an 8x12 pan. I liked them better thinner though, the thicker ones were a bit too much for my personal taste.
These are really yummy, and really easy to make.
Plus, they are kind of impressive. Whenever I need to bring treats somewhere this is definitely going to be one of my go-to treats!!
Hope you enjoy it!
