The Best Way to Cut a Watermelon

One of the most random questions I have ever been consistently asked is how I cut up my watermelons. I guess if you bring cubed watermelon to enough parties, people start to ask. Or maybe I am just not that cool and they talk about the watermelon because they have nothing else to say...or assume I have nothing else to say...because I brought a watermelon...

Like this. Only Patrick Swayze wasn't there. Also; have you ever seen a watermelon this big in real life? I haven't.
Either way! I choose to believe it's because they really want to know. Because this takes me about 3-5 minutes to do the entire watermelon depending on the size. I wish I had known this a lot sooner because it would have saved me a TON of effort.

1. Cut the watermelon in half. Set one half aside.
2. Cut the round end off the side of the watermelon.
3. Working from the center and cut down- cut off the rind.
4. Make 3-4 horizontal cuts.
5. Make as many cuts as you please (depending on the size you want the cubes) in one direction.
6. Make as many cuts as you please (depending on the size you want the cubes) in the other direction. Make sure to hold the watermelon lightly or it will sometimes fall.
Repeat the steps with the other half of the watermelon whenever you see fit.
{I usually just cut up the whole watermelon and put it in tupperware.}

Ridiculously easy and the fastest way to do it.
The more you do it, the faster you get at it.

Hope that helps all you inquisitive minds who wanted to know how I cut up the watermelon I bring to copious amounts of dinner parties.

This has been a post.
