Last year, Daniel and I put up hearts all over our house that said what we loved about each other and we kept them up all month long. I got the idea from one of my very favorite blogs: 71 toes. I just think it's a quick and easy way to show your love for each other.
This year we only did 10 hearts each because I forgot until really late and I wanted to make sure we did it before Daniel's surgery the next morning. Daniel's first question? How many of these can be body parts? Now, that may sound dirty, but in reality, it's lazy. Daniel doesn't like the mushy gooshy stuff like I do, so it's a big deal for him to agree to do this kind of stuff for me. Just another reason I love him!
We kept them hidden from each other until they were all hung up and then we went around and read them together. He didn't say it, but I could tell he felt the warm fuzzies in the air. His were sweet and funny and very Daniel. I tried to make mine things I don't normally tell him and I think I did a pretty good job.
Today as I was going about my business in the house, it brought a smile to my face to see all the hearts full of love hanging around the house. What's exciting for me is that next year Gracie will be able to do some of her own! I can't wait to see what she deems worthy enough to put on a heart, hopefully one of them is her little brother! ;)
A simple 10 minute activity and a whole bunch of warm fuzzies.
I sure do love this guy!
