Fun in the Sun

Every now and again Daniel's work will have a moral day, a bit ago Daniel's flight earned a moral day at a local Army resort that is surrounded by a forest/lake. Danny is still tiny, ( he was almost 8 weeks at the time) so I didn't think we would be able to stay long, but I was wrong. I think Heavenly Father knew how much we needed a family day out because although the sun was out, it was cool. It really was perfect weather.

The place the event was at was RIGHT next to the lake, had a bunch of trees and had a massive pavilion so there was a lot of shade to stand & keep Danny under.

Danny was so darn comfortable. The weather really was just perfect. We kept him in the shade (despite what this picture shows. I moved his shader to take the picture) and just snuggled him in. He was so content and happy to be outside. Daniel and I were marveling at how both of our kids just love being outside, even when they are tiny.

Daniel took Grace out on this kayak and she loved it. She kept wanting to get back in and eventually was trying to get out of it! She loved the "boat".
Just relaxin' out in the lake, wavin' at mama

In the lake, swimmin' with Daddy. By the end of the day she had the life-jacket off and was really trying to swim (all supervised by Daniel, no worries.)
Silt filled lake. So much mud! I was surprised but Gracie just jumped right in! She loved it!

Warming up for a little bit

She was all about these little chairs, gonna have to get her one!

She was so so happy, it made my whole heart smile.

I think she looks a lot like her Daddy here. This is her placating me with selfies.
One very happy girl
Even though it was required for Daniel to be there, it didn't feel like it. It really was a ton of fun for our family. I didn't get to do much but watch and make sure Danny stayed out of the sun and kept cool-but that's okay because my girl up there had a blast and that's all that mattered to me. Seriously, seeing Gracie so happy and having so much fun just filled my entire heart with so much joy.

I guess we will have to go to the lake more often :)
