The Story of Us

There were so many different occasions where Daniel and I should have met, long before we did. We both lived in the same student housing, I was literally one apartment over. I had been in his actual apartment before but he wasn't there. We had to have been in the same colloquium class and never even knew it. (That class is huge.)

When we finally did meet, at a mutual friends Harry Potter Marathon on July 11th 2011, it's not totally surprising that we hit it off. At the end of a night full of flirting and texting in different languages, I asked if he wouldn't mind escorting me to my friends wedding that weekend. He didn't hesitate to say yes.

That night we had our first kiss!

Well, we did things a little backward. You know the song:
"First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage?"

Well, we did first comes love, then comes baby, then comes marriage.

We found out we were expecting a baby in late September, and that set us on a path of fast growing up and self realization. After a trial period of both of us freaking out for a bit, we eventually came back together to realize we both loved each other, that we wanted to be married, that we wanted to go back to the church, and that we wanted to be the best parents to this baby. (Wow, look at that run on sentence...)

On December 23rd, 2011, we got married!

In a beautiful ceremony that I didn't even know I wanted.

(I am a very private person so the idea of kissing in front of a room full of people makes me feel awkward.)

On May 28th, 2012 we welcomed Grace Elizabeth Rice into the world

We were sealed as a family December 28th, 2012

We welcomed Daniel Ethan Rice III on March 20th, 2015

I count myself EXTREMELY lucky to have found Daniel so young, it enables us to have so many more memories together and be able to spend more of our lives together. I am so grateful for this man. He is an amazing husband and a simply amazing father. I couldn't ask for more. He's everything to me and I thank God everyday for him.
